About

The Ottawa Network Alert System (NAS), a free service offered by NetAlerts, keeps the general public updated and informed about any hazards/emergencies that may affect the local area. The NAS uses an All-Hazards, All-Media approach to public alerting that utlizes many different methods of broadcasting information to the public. Standards also place a large role in the NAS with support for the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) ensuring that emergency information can be shared with other local, state/provincial, and national agencies. Contact our HelpDesk with any questions.

Public alerting services available through the Ottawa NAS:

  • AlertSite - a website displaying current and past alert information in detail and which serves as the central information hub.
  • AlertMail - a notification service that sends alert information via email and TXT message.
